This September, we’re excited to introduce Joel Welsh, our talented Production Manager at our new Weber Lane facility. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for excellence, Joel plays a pivotal role in ensuring our production processes run smoothly and efficiently. Join us as we delve into Joel’s journey, explore his insights into the world of manufacturing, and celebrate the impact he has on our team and our success.

Joel Welsh is a Bedford County native through and through; tough, understanding and always looking to help make others better. Joel grew up only a few miles from our headquarters in Fishertown, PA. He graduated from Chestnut Ridge High School and soon after, attended Triangle Tech for Welding Technology.  Joel quickly found his passion; manufacturing. Soon after graduating from Triangle Tech, Joel started working at a local manufacturing facility, serving in various roles for over 15 years.

The transition to MCS was effortless for Joel. After MCS acquired buildings, Joel was our first hire and very little changed for him other than the letters on the front of his shirt. For the past 8 months, he’s served as our Weber Lane Production Manager.

Joel has enjoyed working at a smaller company and says it’s a nice change of pace. “If we need something I can get ahold of Bob or Darin and they get right back to me with answers. No waiting around, no jumping through hoops; just pick up the phone and call.”

He says that the managing style at MCS is something that everyone appreciates, for good reason. “We aren’t micromanaged down here. They know that work is being done. Knowing they have that trust in us, motivates our team to meet and exceed their expectations.” 

 Aside from making sure production is flowing and projects are getting done, Joel takes extreme pride in being a leader. He says “I’ve always loved teaching people and get enjoyment out of seeing people better themselves.”

Joel has a unique approach to being a leader and credits our team at Weber Lane for helping him better himself.

 “Whether our guys know it or not, they usually teach me more than I teach them. We are constantly learning from each other.”

Outside of work, Joel loves everything outdoors. Hunting, fishing, cornhole, and trucks, just to name a few things. If you go to any Central PA campgrounds, don’t be surprised if you run into Joel camping with his family and friends. Above-all-else, he enjoys spending time with his family.

More than Joel knows, we appreciate him being on our team and look forward to many great years to come!
